But what happens if you (or more likely, your child) has made an accidental purchase in Fortnite? Can you get your hard-earned money back? Thankfully, it’s a fairly straightforward process and there are actually a handful of ways to apply for a refund.  We talk you through how to get a refund in Fortnite right here.

Get a Fortnite refund in-game

The good news is that Epic Games has made it incredibly easy to get a refund on purchases made within Fortnite itself – in fact, the process takes only a few clicks and is accessible via any version of the game, be it PC, consoles or Android. The catch is that.

Of course, there is a catch, and that catch is that you can only use the refund service three times. Not three times a month, or even three times a year – three times overall. That should stop people abusing the system, but it’s not great if it’s your fourth refund request. It’s worth noting that you’ll also only be refunded with V-Bucks using this method, and not the IRL cash you spent.

Anyway, it’s easy to get a refund on in-game Fortnite purchases – just follow these steps:

Open Fortnite on your PC, console or mobile device. Tap the menu icon in the top-right of the display, and select the Settings cog. Select Account and Content. Select Submit a Request under the Unintentional PurchasesSelect the item(s) you’d like a refund for, and select a reason for the refund – be it an accidental purchase, unauthorised purchase or anything else. Remember you’ve got a three-refund limit!Submit your request.

The best part is that the service is fully automated, and you should find that your V-Bucks have been returned to your account, ready to be spent on something else.

Contact Epic Games for a Fortnite refund

If you need to get a refund for a range of skins and other items bought without your permission (pesky kids, am I right?) then you’ll need to submit your request via the Epic Games Support Centre. While this is more time-consuming than the first method, it provides a way to get a cash refund on unauthorised purchases.

To contact Epic Games directly for a refund on Fortnite purchases, you need to head to this page in the Support Center. From there, click Contact Us to send Epic an email. In the email, we recommend outlining the situation and include a list of all items that you need refunding.

This is handled by humans rather than a bot, so chances are you’ll be waiting a day or two for a reply, but you should get your refund.

Epic Games is generally quite good at granting refunds for unauthorised purchases in particular, but it won’t do it over and over again, so make sure you keep requests to a minimum and unlink your credit card from your child’s PC/console/phone to avoid it happening again in future.
