What Is Demon Slayer?
Demon Slayer is a shonen series that was written by Koyoharu Gotouge. The story of Demon Slayer follows Kamadou Tanjiro, a teenager who lives with his family in the mountains. Tanjiro is a hard worker, and does his best to help provide for his mother and siblings by selling charcoal to a nearby village. However, things change forever during one of Tanjiro’s usual trips, in which a snow storm keeps him from returning home and isolates him from his family for a night.
When Tanjiro returns, he is mortified to see that almost his entire family has been wiped out by a demon. His sister, Nezuko, stands as the sole survivor but has been turned into a demon herself. This forces Tanjiro to go on a journey to find a cure to turn his sister back to normal, while facing off against various demons. Throughout his journey, Tanjiro meets new allies as well as enemies, who try to stop him from accomplishing his goal. He, alongside the rest of the clandestine Demon Slayer Corps must work towards defeating the Demon King; Muzan Kibutsuji and rid the world of demons once and for all.
