Getting into the beta requires a bit of work and some luck, however, as it rolls out across the servers. Therefore, this guide will show Overwatch 2 fans how to guarantee their access before it ends in May.

How to Sign Up for the Overwatch 2 Beta

To sign up, players must ensure they own a PC copy of Overwatch (2016) and meet the Overwatch 2 system requirements. Now, access Blizzard’s official website directly from the Battle.net launcher. From here, visit the beta sign-up page and click the “Sign Up Now” box.

This will take users to a page where they must enter their account details – if users don’t already have a Blizzard account, making one is quite simple. After logging in, players will have signed up and are subsequently eligible for the beta.

Within a few days, sign-ups may receive an email from Blizzard titled “You’re In! Welcome to the first Overwatch 2 PvP Beta!” which contains instructions for accessing the beta. To get in, download the Battle.net launcher – if it’s not already installed – and navigate to the “Overwatch” tab. Open the “Game Version” dropdown box above the blue “Play” button and select “Overwatch 2 Tech Beta.” Then, install the game, and users should have full access.

How to Guarantee Access to the Overwatch 2 Beta

While likely to get users an invitation, signing up through official means is not a guaranteed method of gaining access to the beta. Beyond using multiple purchased accounts to sign up, there is another way to ensure players get to experience Overwatch 2’s wild Orisa changes for themselves.

For those unfamiliar, during Overwatch events, Blizzard offers unique reward drops for fans who tune into selected Overwatch streamers – this usually unlocks otherwise unobtainable sprays for viewers, and now players can gain access to the Overwatch 2 beta using this method.

Upon linking a Twitch account with their Battle.net ID, simply watching a verified streamer between 1PM and 9PM ET should unlock access to the beta after watching for a certain amount of time. Then, download the Battle.net launcher and navigate to the “Overwatch” tab. Open the “Game Version” dropdown box above the blue “Play” button and select “Overwatch 2 Tech Beta.” Finally, install the game, and users should finally be able to play the insanely overpowered Bastion rework.

Keen fans should keep in mind that this is only the first Overwatch 2 beta, and candidates are selected based on their hardware specs and region, among other things. Failing to gain access now doesn’t mean players won’t get access later, as more betas – including Overwatch 2 console betas – arrive in the lead up to release.

Overwatch 2 is currently in development. The Overwatch 2 PVP Beta is available for PC from April 26 to May 17.
