To put things simply, Scallops in Animal Crossing: New Horizons are found in the same way that all the other underwater creatures are, and that is by diving for them. The first step to diving for Scallops is to get a wetsuit in ACNH from the cabinet in Nook’s Cranny or the Nook Stop terminal at Resident Services, and this new item will allow players to enter the oceans surrounding their islands when worn.

Once a fan is in the water they should then swim around and look for small bubbles rising to the surface. These bubbles indicate that a sea creature, or perhaps even an ACNH pearl, can be found below, and players should hold Y to dive near them. Now all a player must do is come into contact with the underwater shadow, and their character will then return to the surface with what they have collected.
Fans should then simply repeat this process until they come up with a Scallop and are visited by Pascal in New Horizons. To note, some players report that they have needed to recover several Scallops before they see Pascal, and thus fans should not be too discouraged if he does not appear after they find their first one. Players should also know that Pascal will only show up once per day, and Scallops obtained after his daily visit will not cause him to spawn again.
Of course, Scallops are just one of many sea creatures in Animal Crossing: New Horizons following Summer Update - Wave 1, and players have quite a bit of work to do if they want to find all of them for their museums. That said, some of these new species will not be available until later in the year, which means that fans can not complete their Critterpedias in full at this time.
