How to Unlock the Secret Ending
To unlock the secret ending, players will want to proceed through the level as normal until they reach the Mako reactor, where their ally, Barret, will instruct them to plant a bomb. From there, players will have the option to set a timer for twenty minutes or thirty minutes. To unlock the secret ending, players will need to set the timer for twenty minutes, which will allow the secret cutscene to play at the end of the demo. It’s worth noting that it doesn’t take long to escape from the facility, and players will likely manage to get out well within the twenty-minute time limit.
Without spoiling anything, the footage itself isn’t that major, though it is cool to see. It’s a nice little reward for players that were a little bit more daring with their playthrough, and rolls right after the Final Fantasy 7 logo fades to black. The demo itself is also a cool way for Square Enix to build up some more hype for FF7 Remake, and considering the buzz it has generated so far, it’s been pretty successful.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake has gone gold, so players will be back in Cloud’s shoes before they realize it. Luckily, the demo should provide enough to hold players over until then, though it still isn’t clear just how many parts of Final Fantasy 7 remake there will be.
