Known as the Scoville, this Torgue manufactured pistol doesn’t behave like the other pistols within its weapon class. In Borderlands 3, the Scoville comes with an animated skin with fire swirling up the barrel. To match its name, it has the classic green, red, yellow, and orange color scheme to match a hot sauce bottle as well.

Upon firing the weapon, the rounds come out in a short arc instead of a straight line, which may take players a few shots to get used to. Being a Torgue weapon, the rounds naturally explode on impact, dealing plenty of splash damage. For as unique as this gun looks, its defining characteristic is the fact that it doesn’t shoot traditional bullets. Instead, the weapon launches hot sauce bottles making the gun pair well with explosive builds for characters like Moze.

Thankfully, players don’t actually have to rely on luck to unlock this weapon. Unlike most of the new legendaries in the DLC, the Scoville can be obtained by completing the Crew Challenge known as Torgue’s Marketing Mistake. As players explore the Handsome Jackpot, the map will occasionally show a small hot pepper icon on the map. In game, these will look like a hot sauce bottle that can be shot at and destroyed. Destroying all five will cause Torgue to mail players the weapon under the social tab of the pause menu.

While the map is marked with each of the five locations, players will want to visit the following sections:

The Spendoptican - This section has two to find, one in the bottom area of the map and the middle section in the top left. The Compactor - The southern path from the middle fast travel point. Jack’s Secret - Incredibly close to the fast travel point here. VIP Tower - The final item can be found to the right hand side before going into the elevator to the final boss.

While the new legendary weapons are a great addition to the game, players also received a bit of bad news last week when Head of DLC Production Anthony Nicholson confirmed that the studio has no plans to reintroduce Pearlescent and Effervescent weapons into the game. Things can obviously change, but for the foreseeable future, the studio plans to simply utilize the game’s weapon system to create more permutations and unique modifiers for post-launch weapons in upcoming events and downloadable content packs.

Borderlands 3 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
